Our story
Harrison Partners & Company was founded by Will Harrison. Will trained in London at magic circle firm, Clifford Chance in the late 1990s. He moved with Clifford Chance to Hong Kong in 2001, before joining DLA Piper as a partner in 2007. Will moved to Perth with his family in 2015.
Will’s early experience in London focused on the litigation following the collapse of the Barings investment bank in Singapore, caused by the fraudulent option trading of Nick Leeson. In Hong Kong, Will played senior roles in numerous corporate and commercial disputes, including leading the defence of a judicial review of the then largest initial public offering (USD 3 billion) of a real estate investment trust, making legal history by completing full trial and appeal of the action within 5 days. Will led numerous financial services and tax regulatory matters and investigations. On the corporate and commercial side, Will advised on countless matters involving the structuring of transactions for regulated entities.
Will was external legal adviser to an Australian listed investment company (ASX: AEG) and joined the board as a non-executive director to steer the company through a turbulent period. Ultimately, Will guided the company to a sale by way scheme of arrangement to a larger competitor in 2022. Will is also the general counsel of a Sydney based AFSL licensed investment firm, specialising in distressed debt transactions.
Harrison Partners & Company was created to bring big firm experience and expertise to small and medium sized businesses and ambitious individuals and family offices, where its expertise is most valuable – in dispute resolution, regulatory and tax investigations, business advisory and restructuring and individual tax and wealth advisory.
Will regularly achieved the coveted status as a “Tier 1” practitioner in Chambers & Partners Asia and a “leading individual” in Asia Pacific Legal 500. He was praised simply as “Brilliant” by Who’s Who Legal.
Will is legally qualified and holds practising certificates in Western Australia, Hong Kong and England & Wales.
